This year has been nuts if anything and doing the Christmas cooking is exactly what I needed. (Plus who knows the work that goes into this... the answer is a lot of work)
Day 1: Native American Culture. Pork Roast, Native Holiday Cake, Kolab Salad, Cranberry Sauce, Fry Bread
Day 2: Italy. Cheesecake with cranberry compote, Lasagna Bolognese, Broccoli, and Parmesan roasted potatoes.
Day 3: Russia. Rasstegai, Kartoshnik with cheese and onions, Russian chicken, Syrniki
Day 4: Portugal. Rabanadas (french toast), Sopa de Ventura (carrot soup), Pasteis de Bacalhau (fish balls)
Day 5: Nigeria. African beef stew, Nigerian Jollof rice, chickpea moimoi, and puff puff
Day 6: Aruba. Rum balls, sancocho soup, bolita Di Keshi(cheese balls but in this case cheese pancakes)
Day 7: Spain. Spanish patatas bravas (the red sauce and French Fry's) homemade cheese puffs with sesame seeds and honey then we had the Valencian puchero (winter stew) and the Spanish lemon olive oil cake.
Day 8: Greece. Hearty Greek beef stew, Greek salad 'horiatiki', Greek lemon potatoes, Greek dipiles
Day 9: Korea. Naan Bread, kimchi fried rice, hot Korean pork chops, and sweet rice.
Day 10: Slovenia. belokranjska pogaca, carrot soup, chicken with mushrooms, Slovenian struklji, solvenian roasted potatoes
Day 11: England. We have mashed potatoes and potato and leek soup with roast lemon chicken and plum pudding
Day 12: Venezuela. We had corn cakes, pabellon criollo, coconut cream cake, sweet and savory plantain
Day 13: Sweden. Braised Swedish red cabbage, Swedish Christmas toffee called knack, Swedish Christmas ham, janssons temptation Swedish potato dish.
Day 14: Israel. We made Falafel, cabbage rolls, artichoke soup, honey Puffs.
Day 15: France. Croque Madame and French onion soup, classic French gratin potatoes, buche du noel.
Day 16: Egypt. Mahalabia, Egyptian koshary, fried cauliflower, kofta
Day 17: Germany. German krautstrudel, German apple and sausage stuffing, Potato dumplings, Stollen
Day 18: Ethiopia. daro wat, green bean dish, sour fry bread, honey bread for dessert and rice
Day 19: Peru. Sweet potato puree, pantone bread pudding, orange Peruvian pork, and apple sauce
Day 20: Indonesia. a spicy potato dish, nastar (pineapple cookies), sayur urap, and spicy chicken.
Day 21: Poland. homemade pierogies, lemon and pepper fish, cabbage and peas, poppy seed noodles, cheesecake
Day 22: Belgium. Pousse dommes, pork and wine sauce, Belgian endives (we replaced with reddico) and Belgian specialoos
Day 23: Bulgaria. Bulgarian Christmas bread, garash cake, Bob chobra, a potato dish and Bulgarian meatballs
Day 24: Scotland. White rolls, turkey, mashed potatoes, Scottish rumbledethumps, and caramel shortbread
Day 25: Mexico. Mexican style potatoes, mexican bunuelos,street corn salad, skillet beef tamales.
