6th Year of 25 Days Around the World (Christmas Cooking)

2021 has come and gone, and we are almost done with another one! (I'm super late, I know but things have been crazy busy...)

That was our sixth year of 25 Days around the World, Christmas cooking.

Day 1: We visited England with the cultural of food. We had Basic Mashed Potatoes, with a tomato chutney, honey mustard glazed roast ham, Yorkshire parkin, and vegetable cornish pasties.

Day 2: We visited Moldova with a form of flat meatballs, polenta-mamaliga, pasca, a garlic sauce and a vegetable ragout.

Day 3: We visited Tibet with chocolate momos, sha phaley, spicy potatoes, and tibetan bread. (we were in TEARS over those potatoes, when they said spicy... they meant it. We also even cut back on some of the recipe.)

Day 4: We visited Mali with Poutlet Yassa, Mealie Bread, Rice pudding with dates, and spice rum-glazes plantains. (We continued to make plantains, sweet, salty, and I just can't like them)

Day 5: We had a type of Southern USA dishes, without the turkey. Instead we had mashed potatoes, a chocolate-bourbon pecan pie, squash casserole, and sausage gravy and biscuits. (I remember this like it was yesterday, so yummy)

Day 6: We visited Fiji with a Cassava Cake, Hummus (fijian style), lolo buns.

Day 7: We visited Croatia with a Cabbage Stew, madarica cake, Mlinci, Pasticada.

Day 8: We visited Mexico with Bolilio Bread Rolls, Mexican candied sweet potatoes, pumpkin empanadas, cripsy roasted potatoes, and chicken posole

Day 9: For Australia, we had potato scallops, sunshine salad, shrimp on the barbie, and fairy bread. (This was the most hated meal... no offense to Australia we just aren't fish people)

Day 10: For this day we had Singapore, with cheese buns, devil curry, almond sugee cake.

Day 11: Chili. The country. We had Country Bread, with Charquican, Lemon ice cream with deep dish chocolate chip cookie pie, and carmelized onion empanadas. I remember this being really tasty.

Day 12: St Lucia, wasn't my favourite... but we had fried sweet plantains, pepperpot, banana bread, with Saffron Buns and mashed potato cakes.

Day 13: In Sweden we had lemon and garlic broccoli, kladdkaka, swedish meatballs and swedish potatoes.

Day 14: Morocco with Almond Baklava (SO GOOD I could have ate the whole thing in one sitting), chicken tagine, roasted potatoes and a vegetable and chickpea tagine.

Day 15: Scotland. We thought we'd spice it up and put Scotland on something other then Christmas day. We had brussel sprouts, oven roasted potatoes, cranachan cheesecake, steak pie, and a whiskey sauce.

Day 16: Spain we had MORE CHEESECAKE, with pepitoria Sauce, spanish bread, and patatas bravas

Day 17: It was Norway tonight with Bread Treat (Norway dessert pudding buns), Swede Mash (no turnips though we didn't have it plus not a fan), Red Cabbage, slow roasted pork.

Day 18: Martinique with ham, cheesecake, a casserole and yam gratin.

Day 19: France with Coq Au Vin, Lyonnaise Potatoes, spinach souffle, and chocolate yule log cake ( a staple when we do France)

Day 20: Barbados with black cake, glazed ham, macaroni pie, okra soup.

Day 21: New Zealand was a Louise Cake, Oven Baked Kumara Chips, summer slaw, and white bait fritters.

Day 22: Peurto Rico was interesting with Ensalada de Coditios, Pernil, pickled green bananas, sweet potato fries, and coconut pudding (it was such a yummy dessert)

Day 23: Turkey had Baklava with pistachios and Walnuts, ramzen pidsei, meatball and chickpea stew, and a bean and onion salad.

Day 24: Poland had pierogi with potatoes and cheese and other interesting flavours, with lemon and brown butter fish, gingerbread cake and vegetable salad.

Day 25: Merry Christmas from Italy, with baked gnocchi, roast turkey, and a sweet nutella pie with mashed potatoes. This was a delicious meal and I remember it quite well.

Now that I finished this I'm gonna need to go eat, I'm hungry.
